Just to give you guys a bit of a background about MS Happy Diet because I’ve been quite a fan of these happy snaps on Instagram for quite some time…. May, the founder of Ms Happy Diet, doens’t fall far from the fashion fruit tree and is currently the brand manager of Brioni, the luxury menswear brand from Italy. While she is busy doing measurements for the hand-made perfect cutting suits with a hefty price tag, she also snaps loads of scrumptious looking pictures with probably the same hefty calories portions. So… lets find out a little bit more about MS Happy Diet.
1. Why did you start MS Happy Diet?
Because I was able to lose and maintain my weight by eating and living a healthy lifestyle. I also wanted to show everyone that eating healthy is not boring and difficult.
2. What are you into mostly…apart from of course, luxury retail and healthy dieting?
Healthy and Clean recipe, Nutrition, Dessert (I know it is contradictory), Travel, Authentic Dishes, Thai Education System and Charity Projects.
3. Do you have a favourite restaurant or supermarket in Bangkok?
I usually do my grocery at Central Food Hall (Central Chidlom due to the location), Villa Supermarket (many organic products), sometimes at Paragon Gourmet Supermarket for the variety and my favorite is at Bangkok Farmer’s Market (End of the Month at K-Village) for many homemade, local and organic ingredients and dishes.
4. Do you have any amazing cookbooks or recipes you’d like to share with us?
I usually learn about the ingredients and find inspiration from different recipes, but my favorite books are: Macrobiotic โดย สิทรา พรรณสมบูรณ์ – many delicious, yet healthy recipes, ผอมได้ไม่ต้องอด โดย พ.ญ. ธิดากานต์ รุจิพัฒนกุล – practical how-to, to change your lifestyle
For desserts, a simple Pinterest search or Instagram for “healthy/ clean dessert recipes”
5. Fave dish?
All kind of salad, homemade Chinese style vegetable soup ต้มจับฉ่าย (a lot less oily than outside) , Japanese set with grilled fish, brown rice with Thai Style omelet ข้าวกล้องไข่ข้นกุ้ง, Shrimp/ tofu suki – basically, I love fish, tofu and veggie!
6. And what are some of your meals you have throughout the day?
I usually cook my own savory or sweet breakfast (most of the menu are super easy, quick and simple – the recipes are on the blog) – it is my most happy and important meal! I eat lunch around the office. For breakfast and lunch, I eat whatever I like – if I want some desserts, I will eat them with these meals. For dinner, I try to eat at home and go for something light, a lot of vegetable dishes and fruits. For all meals, I always try to avoid white carbs, a lot of salt and sugar, fried dishes and fatty foods.
7. What’s the most fun/exciting thing about keeping a blog?
To see it grows into a happy and healthy community where people interact and share their tips & delicious looking recipe. Also, when people tell me I have inspired them to live a healthier lifestyle or how they are able to lose weight by following my blog!
